This Privacy Policy explains how GrossNetSalary.com ("we", "us", "the website") handles information when you visit. 2. The most important point: your salary data stays in your browser
All salary calculations run locally in your browser using JavaScript. The salary figures and personal inputs you type into any calculator are never transmitted to our servers, never stored by us, and never shared with third parties. When you close or reload the page, those inputs are gone.
3. Server log files
When you visit, our hosting provider (Hetzner Online GmbH (Hetzner Cloud), Germany) automatically processes technical data that your browser transmits, stored in server log files. This may include your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring URL, your browser type and version, and your operating system. This data is used solely to deliver the website securely and reliably and to diagnose technical problems. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log data is retained only for as long as necessary and then deleted.
4. Hosting
The website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH (Hetzner Cloud), Germany. Hetzner processes the technical data described above on our behalf as a processor under a data-processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). The servers used for this website are located in the European Union.
5. Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's local storage to remember your preferences — specifically your light/dark theme choice and your advertising-consent selection. This information stays on your device and is not used to track you. In addition, the advertising and consent services described below may set cookies on your device; you control these through the consent banner.
6. Advertising (Google AdSense)
This website displays advertising through Google AdSense, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited ("Google"). To serve ads, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies and may process data such as your IP address, device and browser information, and your interactions with ads, in order to show ads, measure their performance and — where you consent — personalise them.

8. Web fonts (Google Fonts)
This website uses the "Space Grotesk" and "Inter" fonts, currently loaded from Google's servers (Google Fonts). As a result, your IP address is transmitted to Google when a page loads so the fonts can be delivered. 9. Contact form and email
If you use our contact form, the details you provide (first name, last name, email address and your message) are transmitted via the form service FormSubmit and delivered to our email inbox. We use this data solely to process and respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and, where applicable, taking steps at your request (Art. 6(1)(f) and (b) GDPR). FormSubmit is operated outside the EU; where personal data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. If you prefer, you can email us directly instead. We keep enquiry data only as long as needed to handle your request, then delete it.
10. Analytics (Umami)
To understand how the website is used and to improve it, we use Umami, a privacy-friendly web-analytics tool hosted by us on our own infrastructure. Umami works without cookies and does not collect personal data or track you across other websites. It records only aggregated, anonymous statistics — such as page views, referring sites, approximate (country-level) location, and the type of device and browser — and does not build individual profiles. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Because no personal data is stored and no cookies are set, this processing has no material impact on your privacy.
11. International data transfers
Some service providers (such as Google and FormSubmit) may process data on servers outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. The calculators and content on this website are provided for general information only and may contain errors. We accept no responsibility or liability for incorrect results, for the accuracy or completeness of any data, or for any decision or loss arising from the use of this website. Please verify important figures with a qualified professional or the relevant authority. This does not affect any statutory liability that cannot be excluded by law.
